1Introduction
Welcome to TapTime（触时）, a time-tracking app that uses NFC cards to help you mark and measure how you spend your time. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
By using TapTime, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We keep things simple: TapTime is a private app, and you stay in control of your data.
2Information We Collect
- Task and time data — tasks you create and the time you record. Each record stores start/end time, duration, and any notes you add. This is stored only on your device.
- NFC tag binding — the identity of tags you bind to tasks, used to start or stop a timer. Stored locally and used only to recognize your tags.
- App preferences — your theme choice and default settings, kept on your device.
- Cloud backup — if you enable cloud backup, your task and time data is synchronized to your own Google Drive or iCloud account. This is voluntary and can be turned off at any time.
3Permissions and How We Use Them
- NFC — read/write NFC cards so a single tap can start or stop your timer.
- Notifications — show an ongoing notification with pause/stop controls while a timer is running.
- Foreground service — keeps timing accurate while the app is in the background; active only while a timer is running and stoppable at any time.
- Home screen widget / boot completed — lets the widget update and restore your timer state.
- Cloud backup (Google Drive / iCloud, optional) — only when enabled, after you sign in and grant access.
- Files — used only when you import or export CSV files of your records.
4How We Use Your Information
- Provide the core time-tracking, NFC, records, and widget features you use.
- Keep locally stored data consistent across import/export and restore operations.
- Synchronize data with your chosen cloud account when cloud backup is enabled.
- Fix bugs and keep the app working reliably on your devices.
5Third-Party Services
- Google Drive / iCloud — used only when you enable cloud backup to store and restore your copies.
- NFC libraries — used on-device to read and write tags; no data leaves your device.
6Data Storage, Security and Sharing
Your tasks and time data are stored locally on your device. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
When cloud backup is enabled, backups live in your own Google Drive or iCloud account and are protected by that account’s security. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
7Your Data Is Local to You
TapTime has no account system, shows no advertising, and does not track you for advertising purposes. Your records remain in your own storage unless you explicitly use cloud backup, or export them yourself.
8Data Export and Deletion
- Export: export all your records to a CSV file, from the App settings, at any time.
- Import: import previously exported CSV files to restore records on this device.
- Delete: delete individual records or tasks, or clear the whole database from App settings; uninstalling the app also removes all local data.
9Children’s Privacy
TapTime is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the revised policy is posted with a new “Effective Date”.
